Recruitment of young sport practitioners and instructors /partner countries/

The first step will be to recruit 20 young sportsmen/sportswomen aged 15 – 19 years old and 20 instructors in each country (tot: 80 sport practitioners and 80 coaches). Our target group is any young people aged 15-19 who regularly practice any kind of sport at competitive or amateur level. On the other hand, when we talk about instructors/coaches in this project, we refer to professional instructors of any kind of sports, involved in the training of young athletes at amateur or competitive level.

S.P.E.E.R – Sports in Peers /partner countries/

8 meetings dedicated to the group of 20 young athletes. Each meeting will last 4 hours and will be guided by the principles of non formal learning and peer learning . The meetings will be divided in 2 parts: some times will be dedicated to learn the sports practiced by the other components of the group; so during this workshops they will be both trainees and instructors. The other part of the meetings will be facilitated by youth workers and will propose some simulation games, role-plays, theater activities to foster the development of the following competences: ability to stay focused, stress management, frustration and failure management, team work, self-awareness.

“Failing Forward” training course for sport instructors /partner countries/

How to cope with the frustration of failing? How to learn from failing? It is essential that sport coaches/instructors have this topic in their agenda and are able to support the young athletes in acquiring this competence. The aim of this training is to provide instructors the competences to facilitate and support young athletes in learning from failing, believing than this will help them in making ethical choices in their life and sport career. The agenda of the training will be agreed by the Expert Field professionals according to the needs of the selected participants and to the specific requests of the national groups. The main topics will be: managing frustration, learning from failing, turning mistakes into stepping stones for success.

“S.P.E.E.R and Failing Forward” training materials /partner countries/

The 4 expert fields together with the national project coordinators will work to create a booklet that will gather the agenda, the activities, the results and the methods used during the previous 2 activities. The booklet will be in English and translated in the languages of the participating countries. This output is very important since it will make possible to transfer our experience to any sport and leisure time organisation in Europe: thus, it is a concrete step for a long-term sustainability of the project and for the dissemination of the results

National Anti-Doping Manifest /partner countries/

1 day “Youth Anti-Doping Workshop” that will involve the 20 young athletes together with the 20 sport instructors. The Workshop has 3 main objectives:
– To facilitate the dialogue and the mutual undeestanding between young athlets and instructors when talking about anti-doping strategy
– To create a common Anti-Doping Manifesto, that will include rules, suggestions, quotes or whatever else the group want to state to support an anti-doping strategy
– To elect 2 Junior Anti-Doping Ambassadors that will participate to the European meeting that is described in the WP 2.6.

Building E.D.G.E /Venice, Italy/

4 days European Meeting in Venice that will be attended by 2 young athletes + 1 Sport Expert + 1 sport instructor from each country (tot 16 persons). The meeting will be a concrete chance to share the Anti-Doping Manifesto and to create a common pro sport competences and against counterfeit performances. The content of the videos will be created by the group; this process will be facilitated by a professional video-makers that will be in charge for the editing too.

Sport Celebration /partner countries/

Sports organisations of the community/region will be invited to perform and to involve the audience in learning the peculiarity and the techniques of each sport. The audience will be composed by school and university students, athletes, stakeholders, decision makers related to the topic of sport policy and doping, sport federations. There will be a common moment to watch together the video and stimulate a reflection and a discussion about doping.
